Early PORSCHE RSR.
BASE SIZE: 90 x 105 cm.
This ‘nickel azo yellow’ is casting number 2. Casting number one was created using the winning now-famous Daytona red and blue stripes. Casting number 3 mounted on aluminium has the famous Martini branding woven through the sculpture and base. Creating a sculpture of a 911 is always tricky. Which one? An early RS? The later 917? What about the newer GT3?
The six editions are titled Evolution. This is a deliberate description as the sculpture hopefully captures all the great parts to the 911 generic shape, (whichever one you like) and blends and shapes with speed and movement a sculpture which is instantly identified as one of the most iconic shapes seen on the road and track ever created.
This yellow edition has a large percentage of the RSR’s 1973 race results washed into the speed and shadows along with a nod toward the now-famous Garrards LeMans car. The 911.
